C-295: A Step towards Make-in-India

India, a nation in rapid ascent across diverse sectors, has fortified its defense and transportation capabilities through the introduction of the C-295 tactical transport aircraft. In a groundbreaking initiative led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this aircraft signifies India’s ambition to exceed $25 billion in defense manufacturing and achieve $5 billion in defense exports by 2025. The Indian Air Force (IAF) recently welcomed its first C-295 aircraft, marking the commencement of a project to modernize its transport fleet. Airbus and Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) are set to deliver a total of 56 aircraft, solidifying India’s position as a prominent global C-295 operator and TASL as the first private military aircraft manufacturer in the country.
